Traveler Testimonials

From Lisa Bolton: Los Altos, California High school teacher and ODFL (non-profit) board member:

Having never traveled to Africa, I had many concerns about taking high school students on a three-week trip to Kenya. Understanding that safety was my main concern, Richard Muthoga Mwaura prepared an itinerary that pleased both the kids and their parents who were sending them alone with me on the trip. I was so impressed by Richard's thoroughness and professionalism! There wasn't one thing I would have changed on his itinerary. We were immersed in African culture, experienced a wide array of activities and sites, and never once did I feel worried about the welfare of the kids - it was perfect! The friendly staff was always there to accommodate our every need, no matter what the situation. I traveled a bit on my own afterwards, and found myself continually comparing the tour operators to Kiboko. They never shined like Richard and his crew.

I can sum up our Flash Kenyan Safari in one word – Phenomenal! Incredible! Awesome! Sorry, I couldn't control myself.

When I arrived at the Kenyan airport, I noticed a number of different tour vans picking up people. I joked with Muthoga, one of our guides, that maybe I should check to see what they offer in their tours. I distinctly remember Muthoga smiling (of course, he smiles all the time anyway), and saying, "none of them will offer what you're about to witness". Fast forward 12 days later – twelve game drives, one boat safari, plush lodges to tent camping w/ Maasai warriors, interaction w/ Kikuyu and Samburu tribes, and van drivers who promised (and delivered) finding a cheetah – leaves no doubt in my mind what Muthoga said was true! This custom-tailored safari by Muthoga and Andy far exceeded my expectations! Thank you, Wilderness Inquiry, for a memorable adventure!

I want to thank you and your staff for offering one of the best travel adventures that I’ve ever had the good fortune to experience.
My husband and I consider ourselves seasoned travelers who enjoy learning about new cultures and countries. WI’s trip to Kenya was well planned, well rounded with both challenging and relaxing encounters, and consistently full of new, exciting experiences.

We learned so much about the Kenyan people, their ways of living, their beliefs, their exceptional fauna and flora, and their incredible drive to improve the economy while maintaining the “soul” of Kenya. Rarely have we felt such an honest connection with a country and its people.

You can be assured that we will tout our experience to many friends and colleagues. We will also continue to dream of future trips to Kenya, a country that we’d like to return to again and again.

Thank you again for offering real-life adventures that I believe, in their own poignant way, help to bring our world together.
Sincerely,
Sam & Greg Ingraham
